Day 9 A Rare Plant

Today we headed early in the morning to Sand Springs Fort Rock Oregon. We met Marlo she told us that she wanted us to help her look for some rare plant called Pumice Moonwort. Marlo had told us that this plant was rare because in the land she would look for them, her, and her crew would find very little of the plant. we started around 10 and got lunch around 12pm. While we were looking for the plants there was very little that I found. Un till we turned back around clearing a new area is when I started finding some of the plants. The plants where very small maybe around 1 inch tall, but they were so different compared to other plants around them. Soon we realized that we were all running out of flags that we were using to show where the plants we find are at, so Jessica and Marlo looked around and realized that there was some places where we did not flagged the plants so Marlo decided to count the marketed plants than collect the flags to flag the unflagged plants. Than when we were out of flags arain Marlo decided to start at the last marking flags, and start yelling out how much plants where not flagged. At the same time we also collected the flags and told Monet how much flags we had on our hands. Monat was keeping count of the un flagged and Flags plants in a note book to than add them up all together and see how much rare plants we were able to find. At the end Monet made us guess how much plants we found the total was 611 rare plants. Marlo was happy because she said the previous years they would be able to count the plants with there fingers and not more than than. a while later we left and headed to the Library.

This is a plant that Raquel found (she was the first one to find the plant and she did not even see or know what the plant looked like.)
